Friday 16th June @ Arts Alive Gallery, behind Fresh cafe on charles st, launceston TAS. Tas Variety Freakshow#2. Playind solo acoustic turd with comedy and balance tricks. MC is Birdman (melb), also playing were altruism, emma dillemma, djs, samora squid (sword swallower) and heaps more. was well fun, but freakshows are expected to be!

 Sunday 11th June @ Hamilton Station Hotel, Newcastle NSW. Steve Towson (bris) then Turds (mark + beau). Not bad, think we had some people clapping and singing along.

Saturday 10th June @ Lass O'Gowrie Hotel, Newcastle NSW. Mark and Beau played acoustic in the beer garden between sets of the bands in the front room.

Friday 9th June @ Lucky Country Hotel, Newcastle NSW. Castro!, then the Reasoning, then the turds (mark+beau) then Gout. Not many people, but a pretty fun gig. It was interesting to see guys stripping off and putting shoes down each other's dacks. and the everyone on stage playing air instruments jam at the end was cool.

Sun 28th May. Mark solo acoustic at Republic bar for their comedy night, featuring jjj's Bedroom Philosopher and a bunch of standups.

Sat 27th May. Justin Hazelwood the Bedroom Philosopher @ the venue, salamanca. mark downie (solo acoustic turd), sam nicholson, matt sertori, bedroom philosopher. The gig sold out and it was heaps of fun.

Sun April 9th - Mark solo acoustic at Stage Door Cafe, Burnie. Also played was Jake Boote and Steve Lake. A sobre affair with Mal Greenop and Damien Greenwood both recently passing away, not a bad gig however, and a fairwell to NW tas as I jumped into the car to Hobart straight after.

Tues 4th April - Launceston Fringe Lounge @ Streets Alive Festival. I capping off Tuesday afternoon/evening entertainment for the Launceston Fringe Lounge at 8-8:30pm, this is a part of 'Random Acts of Cabaret' doing some acoustic songs and circus balance tricks. It was a great crowd, everyone dug every song and every balance, cheers launy for making it so fun.

Sat 1st April - Trout Bar, North Hobart. Mark (solo acoustic turd) first at 9pm sharp, followed by  Billy Goats Gruff then Red Rival.

Sun Feb 26th - Lewisham Tavern. Jacob Boote, Damon Brown, Billy Goats Gruff, Turds, Attic Grooves. 5 bands from all around tassie playing all arvo at the lewi. Used tayler on drums again. A bit unrehearsed and out of place following after 3 mainly acoustic acts. 

Sun Feb 19th - Forth Hotel, Forth. A playoff for a spot at the Forth Valley Blues festival. 3 acts from 4:30pm, turds last at 6pm. Tayler drummed for the first time as a turd seeing as Beau and Frosty have moved to the mainland, and did well. The crowd were split, as some of the old blue-heads went outside to escape the noise, but the majority got into something that was completely different for a blues playoff!

Sat Feb 4 - Free Festival. A big festival down at Judbury in the huon valley presented by Terraphonic. Had a couple of mainland acts, plus a heap of local acts, camping, food, workshops, cool stuff. and it's free. Location to be disclosed just before the show. The Muddy Turds hit the stage for a prime spot 11pm Sat night (mark + beau) and rocked hard despite mark being completely tired/drained from the big travel from NZ straight to the gig.

Sun Jan 8th (solo) - Stage Door Cafe, Burnie 'Sunday Shindig#1'  - 3 acoustic acts rotated the stage, each doing 3 short (20min) sets each. Mark Downie (acoustic m.turd), Jake Boote + Sheyana were the performers.

Fri 30th Dec - TURDS AT FALLS! Mark and Beau played an acoustic set on the APRA stage at the Falls Festival whilst little birdy were setting up on the main stage. Managed to fit 7 songs in the 20mins, and drew a very big crowd. Thanks to Con who organised the APRA stage.

November 5-6th @ Moorleah (out the back of Wynyard), RAGE AT THE RANCH 2-day festival. Featuring about 12 mainland acts and about 20 local acts. Headliners included; Bodyjar, TZU, 28 Days, Ash Grunwald, Parkway Drive. Yep, it was a pretty cool event, festivals are always fun, even if there weren't heaps of people. Turds played fairly early on Sunday copping the early arvo sun (mark+beau+dan+dancing kid will). But it seemed that a few heads came out of tents especially for the turds, which was great.

Fri November 4th @ Royal Oak (boatshed), Launy. The freakshow last weekend was mayhem, but this show rivalled, and perhaps even exceeded it. Zero Degrees Freedom, then Anarkaseim, then Muddy Turds (mark+beau+dan+ceils), then Innocent Cabbage (melb idiotic metal act). Much cabbage destruction occured.

Saturday 29th October @ Lloyds Hotel (upstairs), Launy, 'Tasmanian Variety Freakshow'. What a crazy night! From memory it was; Masproducts film, Frith and Fluer in the nude french barosque, altrueism hiphop, brian and chappy live piercings, muddy turds (mark+beau), itchybits puppet show, claire contortionist, hammerclit, DJ JetMore(byron). Plus there was live VJing, sculptures and nudity happening throughout the night

Sat 20th August @ Creek Inn, BEN LOMOND skifields. Daniel Townsend, Solo Turd(mark), Daniel Townsend again, Muddy Turds full band (mark+cam+ceils). Bit of a small mainstream crowd, but an ok gig.

Fri 19th August @ Royal Oak Boatshed, LAUNCESTON. Eddie Fitzallen, The Rakes, The Turds (mark+angus+dan+percussion girls), Halfmast. Yeah pretty cool and fun, i like the rakes.

Thurs 18th August @ The Saloon, LAUNCESTON. Supporting BUTTERFINGERS. Wild show with girls pulling fruit out of each others arse cracks. Biggest turd lineup with dan + ceils singing and the 2 percussion girls naomi and tegan + angus drumming and mark bassing and general mayhem. The crowd was fairly big and seemed to get into it. Pitty about the misunderstanding of timeslot that saw us cut the set short.

Fri 12th August @ Batman Fawkner (big bar), LAUNCESTON. Anchors Away, M.turds (mark+leigh+dan+ceils), Halfmast. AA only did a short set due to technical difficulties. Had leigh on drums and both Dan and Ceils lending voice. We had a bit of fun, but there was about a 3:1 bogan ratio, that's the problem when the gig is in a pool-hall setting. But overall not too bad.

Sun 26th June @ Number 25, BURNIE. The Scratch Band, Auntie Ruth, Hot Dogma, Music O'Farrel and mark SoloTurd. Did soft little solo set early, and had a more rocking jam later. It was a fundraiser for the Tarkine National Coalition. www.tarkine.org.au

Sat 18th June @ Ric's Cafe + Bar (in Batman Fawkner inn), LAUNCESTON. Turds (mark+angus+dan), Halfmast, Modus, Belchers. Not a bad night, a lot of fun, the crowd seemed to like the show and Dan got into the stage show at the end, if we were playing later with a drunk crowd it would have gone off, but as it was I think we did a good job to warm up the punters.

Sun 12th June @ Trout, NORTH HOBART. Turds (mark+milford), Fell To Erin, Airto. A bit quiet early in the arvo, was going to start acoustic but broke string in first song so gave up on that. Milford hit drums completely unrehearsed and it was a pretty fun jam, just a pitty it was so early.

Sat 11th June @ the peacock theatre, Salamanca, HOBART. A fringe festival fundraiser show. USER, Turds, The Que Experience, End Show, Attic Grooves plus DJs in the chill room. Not bad, but couldn't get a good sound out of the PA/acoustic/amp.  Interesting setting in a theatre to a seated crowd. Did 3/4ths acoustic, then rocked out with some jams featuring Michael Que and A.Harper.

Thurs 2nd June @ Spurs Saloon, DEVONPORT, markTurd(solo), then The Uprising. Not a bad night, did the solo acoustic with some toe-tapping rocked up folk songs too.

Thurs 12th May @ Spurs Saloon, DEVONPORT, The Belchers, then The Turds (mark+dave). The Devo crowd were up for partying on a Thursdi, got some locals dancing as the band swung from the rafters.

Fri 29th April @ Lewi Tavern, LEWISHAM, supporting american blues guitar legend STEVER ARVEY who is backed by The Devilles. Well it wasn't really a Turds show, we did Dave McKenna Trio (blues) songs (featuring turds members) plus a the bad breath blues (a turd song)

Sun 24th April @ Alexander Hotel, DEVONPORT. Sheyana, then  Dave McKenna Trio, Then Turds (mark+dave), then Zip Up Casuals. Nice sunday arvo show - small venues aren't hard to fill!

Sun 3rd April @ Trout, NORTH HOBART. Airto then Turds then Loquatious then Seperatist. A debut for Dave on Drums and Ceils on vocals (for a few songs), nice pub, a few heads, cold beer, worth the big drive.

Sunday 20th March - Unleashed concert at ULVERSTONE with Gerling, Antiskeptic, Uprising, Abacinate, Dave McKenna Trio, After the Flames, Dirty Harry and the Rockets, Scream Media and some other bands. One of my fave gigs, seemed that no-one had any idea who we were, but were really getting into it by the end. Pitty it was a short set. Thanks to the kids giving the praise. (mark+trent)

Friday 11th February - The River Arms in ULVERSTONE. The Uprising, The Muddy Turds (mark+trent+angus), Modus, Dirty Harry and the Rockets. Not a bad show, but audience interaction was low, probably because stage seems to be set back from the pub, and people not drunk enough.

Sunday 30th January @ The Waggon in HOBART.  Airto, The Muddy Turds, K.Mason. Not as many people as the other show, but it was still fun. Used Henry as fill-in drummer as Cara pulled out, and he did a great job. A bit more shenanigans with singing on the bar and audience interaction.

Some Sunday arvo (early December?) - The Waggon in HOBART.    The Muddy Turds (mark+cara), Ballpoint, Airto. A fun gig, cant complain.

Friday 1st October (evening) - No.25 in BURNIE.         The Uprising, The Muddy Turds (mark+cara), The Egg and Spoon Race, Mad Uncle. Nice show, relaxed vibe being in a restaurant (after diners had finished) everyone was sitting down, but a fair sized crowd and they all seemed to be getting into it.

Friday 1st October (arvo) - Burnie Show in BURNIE.  First ever performance was 3 songs at Burnie Show original band comp. We didn't win but we raised a few eyebrows as the only band not taking themselves too seriously, also the lineup (1xfemale drummer - cara, 1x3-string open tuned lead bass playing nutter - mark). Got the biggest cheer at the end of the day too.
